WIW: Pinstripes and Pettys

This was kind of inspired by Angie's faux half-tuck and persimmon outfit. I don't have trousers like hers, so I subbed these skinny pinstripe jeans instead.

Pre-YLF I would never have mixed patterns like this, I hope it doesn't look too silly. I think I could probably do better with this, but I had another rushed morning and had to get out the door.

Sweater: Gap
Jeans: Gap
Belt: Canadian Tire
Booties: SE Petty

Not silly at all. I like the subtle pattern mixing...fun! Your sweater is beautiful and the color is very flattering on you. Love this look. Quite stunning.

    I think it looks good!

Nothing wrong with the pattern mixing, this is very subtle and commonly wearable, and I like the persimmons on you:-)

I agree......stunning :) the colour pops, I love the pinstripes and I want those boots. Pretty good for a rushed morning :)

Excuse me, but you are silly for thinking this might be silly. I love it. The belt and the booties - fab. Pinstripes - too cool. And I don't recall seeing you in such colour before - it looks fabulous on you.

I like it lots - the pattern mixing is very subtle, and you're rocking the orange!

  • Aquamarine replied 10 years ago

Wow...LOVE the jeans (love pinstripes) coupled with the bright top. Not used to seeing you in so much color. It suits you!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I think it looks excellent. The pinstripe is subtle and works brilliantly with the boots to my eye!

This looks great and I really don't think it registers as pattern mixing in any extreme way - at least not to me!

The whole outfit looks fab!  I like how the boots, pinstripes, and belt echo each other....along with the pop of color on top!

Love the bright sweater for a fall day.  That's a really cute belt too. Canadian Tire sells belts? Who know? LOL

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Not silly at all. The pin stripes can blend with other patterns easily, they are so subtle. You have inspired me to try pinstripes and Petty pythons today with a white belt.

I love this Ceit!  The patterns work really well together, and that belt is gorgeous.

This outfit is just perfect!!  The pattern mixing gets a perfect 10!  Love your outfit!  Very polished and very trendy!

  • Keturah replied 10 years ago

Beautiful color! I love your punchy graphic use of pattern and color! It's trendy and you look great in it. Only thing I might say, since the bottoms are jeans I would be tempted to wear them tighter. But that is more personal preference. I love their pinstripe pattern an those booties are so stunning! YLF <3

I think this is fabulous pattern mixing and those pinstripe jeans look amazing on you Ceit. You are gonna LOVE the petty's :)

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

    Great outfit, Ceit!
The pattern mixing is subtle- not OTT at all.
You look great in that bright sweater, too!

Everytime I see those pettys I get so upset they did not work for mw. You look awesome.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

The pattern mixing is subtle and sophisticated, which allows that color to shine.  I think you have a winner!

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

Very nice!  Both patterns are subtle, they don't look silly in the least.  The colour of that gap sweater is perfect on you, just delicious.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

Silly? Not at all. You look great. And, wow, do you look good in that orange.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

I think you look absolutely terrific. I hope you don't feel silly anymore. xo

I still smile every time I see "Canadian Tire" in your clothes descriptors... :)

    Fan friggin tastic! Good job!

I am all for thinking of the petty's as a neutral. I love how you picked up the stripes in the pant and picked up the white in the belt and the shoe. I also like the juxtaposition of the circles in the belt and the stripes in the pant. I LOVE the red top. This outfit is genius. Marking as a favorite.

What a great outfit! I love the patterns together, and the luscious orange sweater!! I don't think I've seen you in orange before, and it's a really flattering color on you.

  • pil replied 10 years ago

Really nice, Ceit. Love the orange on you.
