WIW: Slow shift to spring

Jumping the gun a little, but it was 6C yesterday and felt so warm! I was up far too late last night working on an article, and I didn't remember until staggering out of the shower this morning that I had forgotten to do the laundry (I got completely subsumed in writing, enough that I was having visual hallucinations of words flashing in my head when I finally tried to go to sleep).

So, this is a bit more wintry than springy, but it will do. I watched the 3-hour edit of The Hobbit on the weekend with my dad, and this sweater reminds me of dwarven clothing for some reason.

Sweater: Zara
Shirt: Gap
Belt: H&M
Jeans: Paige
Boots: Frye Engineer 8R

That is a really cool sweater! I love it on you with the white specs.

So fun to see you posting! Love the jeans. They're almost a grape color on my monitor. Is that accurate?

  • trekkiegirl replied 9 years ago

Super cute outfit, and I also love the sweater (texture) and pants (color)
Also looooove those boots. Great combo! I think the use of color and swingy feel of the cardi make it spring enough ;)

Great to see you posting!! You look stompy and fun.  Love the column of color especially.

Oh it IS kind of dwarven isn't it? Fab sweater on you Ceit and it is so nice to see you post again :)

The sweater looks cozy.  Spring is tough for me because we have a 30-40 degree (F) temperature swing.  It's cold in the mornings and warm in the afternoons.  Your sweater looks perfect for the cold mornings and then could be removed for a warm afternoon.

Great sweater! 6C counts as spring huh?

  • texstyle replied 9 years ago

Great outfit  - love that sweater on you!  With the color blocking it almost looked like a vest in the first pic. Which made me think you'd also look great in a long vest in spring/summer.

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Great sweater - it does resemble a vest in pic #1. Perfectly comfy, cozy, and stylish!

Love the long, luxurious topper.  Even with a DH who always keeps up with the laundry, I had trouble on our first 50F day yesterday.  I looked into my closet thinking, "I have nothing to wear!"  And I was only going to the paint store to gather another gallon for my house project!

I think you did well -- excellent silhouette!

Cool sweater!!! You look great! I'm knee deep in laundry without being tied up with writing! Ack!

  • shedev replied 9 years ago

Love the purple jeans, the low contrast, and the sweater.

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Cool sweater jacket! Looks great with the deep colored jeans and stompy boots.

isn't it amazing what a small increase in temp will do? its 50F here, and i'm feeling a case of spring fever coming on. fab cardi, and love it paired with the purple jeans

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

You make me want to wear my purple pants :)

  • Keturah replied 9 years ago

    Love it!!

I live in the mountains. 6C is definitely warm here. In fact, today it is 47F degrees right now, and I am wearing gladiator wedge sandals at work. I join you in spring fever!

    Nice sweater!

Love that sweater jacket! I like how the stompy boots balance out the volume of it. Enjoy the warmer temps.

Oh, boy! I like that outfit, and it looks great on you. That sweater is right up my alley--I love the texture, the fun reverse side, the oversized hood, the length and cozy look! I could really use a sweater like that. How come I never see something like that when I browse through Zara?

  • AM replied 9 years ago

I really love this. The sweater has such great texture. And I agree -- looks great with your glasses. It also makes me love my moto boots. Makes me want to go give them a big hug. Your boots are divine.

  • replied 9 years ago

Fab! Such artful balance between oversized (jacket, boots) and fitted. I love how the plum colour of the pants and texture of your sweater add warmth and interest to the look. And your specs pick up the white in the sweater and draw the eye vertically. Masterful! You've inspired me to pair my hardly worn plum skinnies with black.

Love your outfit!! I was feeling a bit daring today as well and wore a houndstooth jacket  and NO GLOVES!!!  oh and a few other articles of clothing as well ;-)

  • replied 9 years ago

Yes, they are purple jeans! I was going to purge them but they are quite comfortable.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Zara often has interesting sweaters and stuff like that at the end of season sales.

Love this Ceit - the sweater looks fab on you.

A Ceit WIW ... always a treat to the eyes! Love that sweater ... I agree that Zara has some cool stuff and I usually only shop their sales.

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

    Yess, dwarven cloting, super cool!

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

This is a very flattering silhouette for you Ceit.  If this is a dwarfish cardigan then you make the cutest and stylish dwarf of them all! :-)
I so hear you on the spring fever! For me it is not the temperature above freezing by itself but combined together with bright sun, clear blue sky and MELTING MOUNTAINS OF SNOW! It is messy at the moment but it is the first sign of the spring and a very welcome one. Please let it stay this way and not revert back to winter!!!
